No, and no. The Novel 90 Summer Writing Challenge is open to everyone. There is no fee to join, and you don’t need to be an active AutoCrit member.

Not necessarily. You are welcome to join the challenge as motivation to get your work done and keep your entire artistic process private. On the other hand, you can share materials along the way for feedback. You can also choose to participate for our grand prize, which would involve submitting your work. Our favorites will be highlighted in our newsletter in 2025 and receive additional surprises.

Absolutely not. All our challenges are built to engage and inspire our community – that’s it. We make absolutely no claim to anything you create during the challenge.

Absolutely! Throughout the summer challenge, you’ll receive specific tips for novellas, novelettes, and short story collections. However, we fully support participants who wish to dedicate their time to a full-length novel
